The tournament comprised of 12 teams with 3 groups of 4. The top 3 teams went through along with the best second place finisher. We were drawn in a group with Blackpool, Chatty United and Park United.

First up was Blackpool on the Saturday at 13.45 where we drew 2-2. We went down 1-0 and Riaan Barth was red-carded for protesting the goal that we conceded. We still played very well with ten men and went ahead 2-1 through goals by Pele Bika and Damian Christian. We then conceded an equalizer and with 5 minutes left we got a penalty which was missed by Xola Mashiya. The game ended 2-2. Not bad for 10 men but we should have still won the game.

Next up was Chatty United. Chatty United lost their 1st game 2-1 against Park United. We went 1-0 up through a penalty by Pele Bika and then went on to dominate the game but could not put the ball in the net. As it happens in football, if you miss your chances it will come back to haunt you. Chatty equalized through a very good goal. With a few minutes left on the clock, we were gifted a goal through a mistake by Chatty where Farouk Abrahams(Punky) scored. Kurt Petersen(captain) scored thereafter to secure the victory.

Park United and Blackpool played out a goalless draw which meant whoever won the last game between Tavcor Callies and Park United would go through as group winners.

We started quite well and scored twice through Damian Christian. The first was a free kick from distance and the other a good goal on the turn. With 19 minutes left the ref called off the game as it was getting dark and the organizers could not get the lights to work. We had to come back in the morning to play those last minutes. We did so successfully.

In the semi-final we played Westlake and the game ended in a goalless draw, so we went into penalties. We missed 2 of our penalties and Westlake had 2 chances to score their penalties and go through to the final. They missed both attempts and then it was sudden death. Xola Mashiya then scored our penalty and they missed which put us through to the final.

We would then play Wolves in the final as they beat Bloem Callies. What a display of football the guys showed in the final. Wolves were chasing shadows. One of the most complete and satisfying experiences of football I have seen by a football team. We went 2 up through 2 outstanding strikes by Xola Mashiya from well outside the box. Then Farouk Abrahams (Punky) and Damian Christian scored 2 more goals to make the final score 4-0.

Damian Christian won the top goal scorer award.
